The Rolex GMT Master was designed in the first instance with pilots and aviators in mind and the main purpose of it was so that the owner could tell the time in two different time zones at once; where they had taken off and where they would land. This was simply achieved by an additional hour hand and the rotating bezel. The new models of the Rolex GMT Master have a larger case, which at 40mm is noticeably chunkier than the earlier watches in the range. The winding crown is also larger to keep the same elegant proportions and the ceramic bezel is sandblasted for matte elegance with a platinum infill. For clarity, the black dial now has larger markers as well as a green 24 hour pointer. And the design updates don’t stop at just the dial. The bracelet is instantly recognizable as a new model as the middle links are highly polished. If you loved the older Rolex GMT Master, this one will please you even more.
