Rolex Serial numbers

The serial letter and number of a Rolex watch can almost be compared to a car registration number and will help determine the original production date. The serial letter will then be followed by a series of numbers which will indicate production volume. For your research we have published below a list of serial data . You will also notice that earlier models only have a series of numbers.

How can I view the number?

Serial numbers will be found stamped on the side of the watch body at the 6 o’clock end. You will need to release the bracelet away from the main watch body in order for you to see the number. This should only be carried out by an experienced watch maker. Never purchase a watch when the serial number has been tampered with.
